At PHD Veterinary Services, we recommend a performance evaluation every 6 months to ensure your horse is in top shape. A performance evaluation is a comprehensive physical exam that focuses on your horse's fitness, soundness, and overall performance capabilities. Regular check-ups can catch potential issues early, helping to maintain peak performance.
At PHD Veterinary Services, we understand that emergencies can happen at any time.
We travel to current clients within a 30-mile radius of our clinic to handle emergencies, providing prompt and professional assistance.

At PHD Veterinary Services, we prioritize your horse's neurological health through our comprehensive neurologic exams. Dr. Michael Porter, a board-certified internal medicine specialist with nearly 20 years of experience evaluating horses with neurologic disease, leads our team. These exams assess your horse's nervous system & detect any signs of neurological disorders, such as cervical vertebral stenosis (wobblers syndrome), EPM, trauma, or other conditions affecting coordination and mobility.
An often overlooked cause of poor performance in horses is an abnormality within the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Dr. Michael Porter, with his extensive background and specialty training in equine internal medicine, leads the team at PHD Veterinary Services in identifying and treating these complex conditions.
