Dr. Stephanie Helinger

Dr. Helinger is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, and has comprehensive background in animal science and equine care. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Florida in 2010, followed by an M.S. in Equine Nutrition and Exercise Physiology in 2011.

After completing her graduate studies, Dr. Helinger began her career with PHD Veterinary Services, traveling alongside Dr. Porter as his veterinary technician. She gained invaluable experience in all aspects of equine veterinary care during this time. In 2016, Dr. Helinger transitioned to a role in sales and advertising but soon realized her true passion was in veterinary medicine. She returned to school and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

Following graduation, Dr. Helinger completed a one-year rotating internship at Ocala Equine Hospital. Her professional interests include lameness, sports medicine and rehabilitation, podiatry, endocrinology, and preventative medicine.

Horses have always been central to Dr. Helinger's life. She grew up training and competing in three-day eventing and dressage and continues to be actively involved in the equine community. She spends her evenings caring for her equine partner of 21 years, Lola. Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Helinger enjoys working out, engaging in outdoor activities, and is an avid runner.
